About Dr Davis
A native of Houston, Texas, Dr. Davis completed his undergraduate education at Baylor University. He completed his medical education at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. After receiving his M.D. degree, he relocated his family to Birmingham to complete his orthopedic surgey residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His training there included advanced trauma care of adults and children, state-of-the-art joint replacement techniques, and sports medicine care of amateur, collegiate, and professional athletes.
Dr. Davis received the Leonard Marmor award for Outstanding Professional Leadership as an orthopedic resident in 2004. He has presented papers and educational talks at local and regional orthopedic society meetings and is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Alabama Orthopedic Society. Dr. Davis is active on the staff at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, and St. Vincent's Medical Center.
Dr. Davis is experienced in treating musculoskeletal disorders of adults and children. This includes trauma and fracture care, arthritis of the shoulder, hip, and knee, as well as sports-related injuries. Dr. Davis has a special interest in arthroscopic and minimally invasive sugical techniques for treating problems affecting the shoulder, hip, and knee.
